EDUCATE – EMPOWER – ENABLE

The Press Up Plus is a great Exercise for working the Scapula movements of Protraction and Retraction.

This places emphasis on the muscles that control scapula stability, most notably, the Serratus Anterior Muscle.

This muscle is often called the “Boxers” muscle as it is worked froma Boxer doing repeated movents of the “Jab.”

The Press Up Plus is evidence based from the Physios at Kinetic Control who trained me all those years ago (Thanks Mark Commerford & Sarah Mottram).

The goal is amount quality over quantity.

Your last rep should be just as good as your first!

Don’t forget the 5 pillars of stability when doing your press up as it is hard to dissociate the scapula movements of protraction and retraction whilst maintaining body tension.
