What an awesome hour of education!
The first episode of the Human Longevity Project was something special.
The new dawn of Functional Medicine is here.
Cell biology came alive as they talked about the Mitochondria of the cell and Epigenetics.
Now don’t get all “geeked out” on the scientific language.
Here are a couple of take home messages:
Think you are in charge of your body?
Guess again.
The Mitochondria of the cell have their own agenda.
Better to work with them than against them.
The human body NEEDS stress not only to survive but to thrive!
Therefore exercise is more important than,….. eating.
We eat roughly three times a day, but only exercise once a day.
For longevity in any animal we simply restrict their calorific intake.
Why don’t we do the same for ourselves?
Basically, what we eat is more important than we ever thought.
The Gut is in charge of our immune system.
If we feed it high amounts of sugar, we get ill.
If we are out of balance with nature, we get ill.
Modern life has separated itself from nature.
It’s time to get back to basics for health.
Go for a walk in the park.
